Church family,
I trust you are having a good week! Here are a couple of reminders. Both have to do with discipleship.
Preaching
As we continue in the preaching series through 1 & 2 Thessalonians, this week we will consider the great hope of the church – the coming of Christ! Paul addresses concerns the church had concerning Christ’s coming. The section of scripture that records his response is 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
He also responds to a second concern of new believers in chapter 5:1-11. So the next two Sundays we will look at Paul’s response to the believer’s concerns. Many Christians have looked to this passage with hope. Of course, there are a few different perspectives on what is contained there as well.
Teaching
This Sunday morning begins a new season of Adult Discipleship options! Two classes will be offered: God is Closer than You Think led by Frank Zenner and John Kessinger and Building Relationships and Seeking God led by Dale Frankhouse and Steve Simmons.
These classes will be held at the church beginning this Sunday morning at 9:00 am. Come to join in with your brothers and sisters in Christ as we strengthen our faith! Come to strengthen your relationship with others!
Hebrews 10:23-25 (NLT) Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Walking with you,
Pastor Brian
