SUPPORT THE MISSION

Church family,

In a couple short weeks, we will be having our annual International Workers’ Conference (Missions). Kirk, a C&MA International Worker, will be with us. There is a flier available at the Welcome Center and a schedule on our website with more information.

Kirk will be with us from Wednesday, October 24th through Sunday, the 28th. You will have opportunities to meet and interact with him on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the church. Saturday morning, Kirk will join the men for a golf outing at Riverby Golf Course. That evening, we will have a time with Kirk at a church campfire! Finally, on Sunday the 28th Kirk will be speaking to us in the worship service followed by a potluck lunch!

Let me encourage you to prioritize this time. Join us. Encourage Kirk. Support the mission! Enjoy this opportunity with your brothers and sisters in Christ!

1 Corinthians 16:5-9 (NLT) I am coming to visit you after I have been to Macedonia, for I am planning to travel through Macedonia. Perhaps I will stay awhile with you, possibly all winter, and then you can send me on my way to my next destination. This time I don’t want to make just a short visit and then go right on. I want to come and stay awhile, if the Lord will let me. In the meantime, I will be staying here at Ephesus until the Festival of Pentecost. There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.

This is one of those sections of scripture we often find at the end of Paul’s letters. Perhaps, when you are reading these passages, you skim over them. But let me point out something here. Paul is looking forward to spending time with the church. He has been out on mission sharing the gospel. He wants to come to share what great things God is doing. He wants the church to share in the ministry that God has called him to – to be encouraged.

See our international workers that way. They are not here “under pressure.” They are wanting to share what God is doing. They are here to encourage us in the mission. They are here to gain strength from being with the body of Christ. Kirk is our brother in Christ!

Join us!

Walking with you,

Pastor Brian
