Dear Church family,
Beginning on Father’s Day, we will begin a new preaching series – The Light of the Gospel. In the series, we will look at 2 Corinthians 4 & 5 to better understand the mission that we have as a church, the children of God.
Along with 4 sermons on these chapters, Bruce and Lori Rowe (C&MA workers with Marketplace Ministries to Thailand) will be speaking to us on July 8. Following the service that day, we look forward to sharing a potluck lunch together!
In 2 Corinthians 4:6 Paul writes to the church in Corinth, For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ (NLT). We see that the message of the gospel is light. We see that this gospel is God-initiated, to bring man hope through the person of Jesus Christ! At the same time, this verse helps us realize that man lives in darkness and cannot save himself. He needs a Savior, Jesus Christ God’s Son, provided for us.
In our world today, there are many beliefs about how one can get to heaven or have eternal life. Some believe that all these many views lead to the same place, the same God. But the truth is pretty clearly stated in God’s Word:
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (ESV)
Join us as we look into 2 Corinthians 4 & 5 – The Light of the Gospel.
Walking with you,
