Church family,
Last week I shared with you a variety of area-wide ministries that we are blessed with in NW Ohio.Over the years the Lord has given specific vision to specific people to establish ministry posts to help meet the needs of people around us. Most use the avenue of meeting a need to show the love of Christ. When we open our eyes to the needs around us and serve, we show the love of Christ to others!
Galatians 5:13-14 (NLT) For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Because of what Christ has done for us, we are not free to sin, but free from the penalty of sin. In this freedom, let us use it to love others!
I want to give you another opportunity to connect to community, to serve. The United Way of Wood County is looking for volunteers to serve for their Project Connect Wood County Day on Wednesday, Oct. 17. Project Connect is a one-day, one-stop event with free goods and services for Wood County people in need. Join me and volunteer for this one day event, visit the Project Connect website.
Also, here’s another opportunity to connect to community, to serve. A month ago, Shannon Simmons shared with us concerning the ministry of Bowling Green Pregnancy Center. She also mentioned they will be having a fall fundraiser – Color My Life Fun Run and Walk at Carter Park on September 22. Now I assume most of you cannot run well anymore, but I am sure many of us can still walk! So, no excuses! Go to the Color My Life website to get more information and sign-up!
Walking with you,
Pastor Brian
